Gertrude Salano is a distinguished WASH Specialist and Public Policy Scholar with an impressive 21-year tenure spanning various esteemed organisations. Her expertise encompasses multiple domains, including designing and coordinating WASH interventions and spearheading efforts to mainstream gender, diversity, and social inclusion in programming initiatives. Gertrude's proficiency extends to Water Governance, financing strategies, and capacity development. Her keen focus on project monitoring, evaluation, and learning has led to developing robust Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks and systems. Presently, Gertrude serves as a Project Manager for Nairobi, Naivasha and Mavoko with WSUP, where she continues to drive impactful change and innovation in sanitation and water management. With her wealth of experience and dedication to excellence, Gertrude remains a driving force in advancing WASH and gender empowerment initiatives in Kenya.

Harizo has a background in Urban and Rural Water Management. He worked at CARE International from 2011 until 2018, when he joined WSUP. He currently holds the position of Programme Assistant in Monitoring & Evaluation.

Solofoharivelo S. Rajaonson

Driver

Solofoharivelo, or Solofo as he's often called, is a valued member of the WSUP Madagascar team, serving both as a driver and providing administrative support.  His reliable transportation services ensure the team can efficiently reach project sites and conduct essential fieldwork.  Solofo also supports the team with administrative tasks, contributing to the smooth day-to-day operations of WSUP Madagascar.

Finance and Support Services Manager

With over 25 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, administration, and HR, Jocelyne, WSUP Madagascar Finance Officer, is a seasoned professional equipped to comprehensively oversee WSUP's financial health and operational efficiency. Before joining WSUP, Jocelyne honed her skills across diverse environments, navigating the private sector's and international organisations' complexities. This breadth of experience allows her to anticipate challenges and implement solutions tailored to WSUP's unique needs. She holds a master's degree in management specialising in finance and accounting, further solidifying her technical capabilities. The positive work environment, opportunities for learning new skills within the team, and alignment with WSUP values are her inspirations for working at WSUP.

Abrao Hendrick De Jesus Cardoso

HR & Admin Officer

Abrão Cardoso is a Human Resources and Administration professional at WSUP, based in Maputo. He serves as HR & Admin Lead, focusing on supporting people management and organisational administration, strengthening organisational processes, and contributing to internal efficiency and the achievement of the organisation’s strategic objectives. He is recognised for his practical approach, professional ethics, and ability to support teams and leadership in continuous learning while promoting a collaborative and results oriented working environment.

Gerson Paulino Raquissone

Community Development Officer

Gerson Raquissone is a Project Officer based in Nampula, with experience supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of WSUP development initiatives. He works closely with local teams, communities, and external partners to ensure projects are delivered efficiently, on time, and in line with organisational objectives. He brings a strong commitment to results, collaboration, and community impact, contributing to the strengthening of project quality, reporting, and stakeholder engagement across WSUP programmes in Nampula, Mozambique.

Helio de Jesus Vicente Rajani

Driver

Hélio de Jesus Vicente Rajani is a Mozambican professional with over 16 years of experience in administration, procurement, logistics, and fleet management. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from ISGECOF and has a strong professional focus on stock management and resource optimisation. Throughout his career, Hélio has built extensive expertise in administrative and financial management, team coordination, inventory control, national and international procurement, as well as risk management and compliance with institutional standards. He has held leadership and supervisory roles in reputable organisations, including CARE International, Novabase Mozambique, and Associação Nfunane. He currently works with WSUP as a Senior Driver and Administrative Assistant, where he supports both operational and strategic functions across logistics, finance, and administration. Hélio is widely recognised for his professionalism, adaptability, and results-oriented approach, consistently contributing to operational efficiency and the effective use of organisational resources.

Lillian Nabasirye

Resident Programme Manager

Lillian has over 20 years’ professional work experience in both rural and urban water and sanitation sub sector. She has worked with water production systems (piped and point), distribution and wastewater treatment plants. She has experience in establishing quality management systems and water safety plans in utility service from the practice with National water and sewerage corporation in Uganda. Lillian has served in several leadership roles including leading the technical and area teams for Jinja Area; before joining SNV Uganda where she adopted the advisory and systems strengthening approaches. Having worked with decentralised local governments she has a vast understanding of governance systems in Uganda. Lillian is passionate about delivering sustainable solutions especially embedding innovations in the routines of service delivery. As such her quest to unlearn, learn and re learn never fades.
